Start the planing process for a Salish Village and First Nations Healing Lodges surrounding Oppenheimer Park. Offering the park as a first step to a long over due reconciliation. Circumventing the inept city planning proses. A development project promoting The Coast Salish People and their culture would be the best display of an 'apology for historic wrongs'! Canadian governments and churches have tried diligently to destroy these People, their culture and their beliefs. Some Chiefs in Canada are still taking “21st Century T.B. Blankets” from the white man's government, ignoring their People's culture, traditions and needs! This is an amazing and wonderful People with a closer connection to the Great Spirit and The Earth than any foreign culture? These People are my Sisters and Brothers. We'll build Salish Cultural Centres where traditions can be practised and displayed. Healing Centres where Traditional Healers and Sweat Lodges can help cure those afflicted by drugs, alcohol and the mental issues associated with abuse. Ample low cost housing above the studios where this complex and awe inspiring art can be produced and sold! Visitors come from 'all over the World' by the droves to experience and purchase Coast Salish Culture and art. Let the healing begin now! And the $reduction$ in costs to The Taxpayers. Or do We 'roll-with' the monarchist and continue on with Human Rights violations?
